What matters in life

We are all busy in life with our daily routines but what if we were to take a moment and ask ourselves what matters in life? what am I actually doing with my life? that one life  I can’t ever get back? did I pursue my dreams? or do I spend the day wondering why I am doing the job that I am in? am l spending the time that I should be with my family? my friends? stop for a minute and then it is gone for a brief moment in time it is all gone. Remember the people that have come and gone then remember the people that have maybe gone but are not forgotten and then the ones that had a huge impact on your life but you let them slip away.  Go and get  them go and bring them back embrace them don’t ever let them go because you won’t realise the impact that they had on your life until it is lost.

Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

You expected to be sad in the fall. Part of you died each year when the leaves fell from the trees and their branches were bare against the wind and the cold, wintery light. But you knew there would always be the spring, as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person died for no reason.”

Ernest Hemingway
